Class Materials

Art Fee:  The fee for all semester visual art classes is $25. The fee for yearlong classes is $50. This fee is payable to Bishop England and is turned into the Business Office (Mrs. James or Ms. Hart).

Art Supplies: The fee covers art supplies for class projects. Supplies issued to each student (sketchbook, pencils, eraser, etc.) are the personal responsibility of the student. If  a student loses something that was issued to him or her, he or she must buy a new one. Supplies that are consumed (like filling up a sketchbook) are replaced at no additional cost.

Each student must have a shoebox or similar container to hold their art supplies. Students will be assigned a space in the cabinets to keep their supplies, sketchbook and their art shirts. Supplies do not have to be kept in the cabinets, but the supplies must be brought to class each day.

Before the class art exhibit, students are financially responsible for preparing (labeling, mounting or matting, displaying) some of their art work for the class art exhibit. Please note that the art fee does not cover this cost.

Art Shirts Wearing an old shirt or smock over the uniform is the responsibility of the student, since we do use art materials that permanently stain clothing!

AP Studio Art and Advanced Art (additional information): Due to the differing supply needs for Advanced Art and AP Studio Art students, there may be some supplies that the student chooses to purchase from local art stores. Students are responsible for all supplies issued to them. The art fee covers the cost of the slide portfolio for the AP Studio Art exam.
